Woollahra Residence
This spacious Woollahra home for a busy family of five was full to the brim. Built in 2000, the house was suffering from personality confusion. Through the guiding principles of function, comfort and harmony, our concept was Creative Refinement: a curated visual rhythm.
This home had an existing Dynalite automation system that was dated and needed some care. We replaced any damaged equipment and installed Control4 on top, giving full control of the home's lighting, security, audio and comfort.
We added Dynalite switches where needed and relocated existing ones to suit the new room layout, then installed a full Ubiquiti Wi-Fi network throughout for fast, strong and reliable connectivity across a busy connected household.
Custom LED was installed within all joinery, paired with door IR sensor switches for that extra touch of luxe and practicality, including the backlit master robe mirror detail. Throughout the home we had the pleasure of installing spectacular pendants by Christopher Boots, Articolo and Flos, alongside vintage French crystal chandeliers.
A back-to-brick renovation meant new lighting and power positions were set out to align with the new furniture layout in every room. For audio, we used Sonance Stealth ceiling speakers with sound-isolating enclosures where a visible speaker would not suit, keeping sound from travelling to the rooms above.
Episode speakers were installed in pairs across most rooms, with a 5.1 surround for the TV room accompanied by a Sonos Arc and sub. Sonos amps were upgraded in most zones, keeping some existing Series 2 units for single-speaker rooms to manage cost.
